Which GUI are you using? @galad87 Does building without libdovi make HandBrake default to HDR10? |

While there is no UI, it's possible to set a preset "VideoPasshtruHDRDynamicMetadata" key to "off", and the macOS UI will honor the setting. Export a preset, set the key in a text editor, and import it back. |

In my experience, HandBrake Dolby Vision 8.1 output using the x265 encoder results in video that starts playing on my Philips OLED TV (using Kodi), but when seeking in any direction, audio and subs continue, but the video freezes. This does not happen when playing an untouched Blu-ray Dolby Vision 7.6 video.
For me this means that I need to drop the Dolby Vision dynamic metadata if I want to reduce the file size.
In short, I'm still encoding with version 1.7.3 of Handbrake, because it defaults to HDR10 output. Since the CLI switch is there now, why not add it to the GUI?
regards,
Peter
